Mountmellick thread is completely matt, that is, it has no shine at all. It is a finely twisted thread made of soft, unmercerised cotton. It can be used for Mountmellick embroidery (as its name suggests) and other whitework embroidery where a matt finish is desired.

Pearl cotton
Pearl cotton 8 is used for Portuguese Whitework. Not surprisingly, the most common colour is white (blanc)! For those who enjoy a bit of colour also, there are five additional specific DMC colours which can be used - black (DMC 310), red (DMC 321), grey (DMC 415), beige (DMC 644), and blue (DMC 796). Purchase single balls or multiple balls.
