This Hardanger tray cloth features an intricate beautiful band of Hardanger embroidery at each end, with drawn thread work, pulled thread work and decorative satin stitching.
The only areas of cutwork on this mat (for those who try to avoid cutting threads!) are the bands of needleweaving. The rest of the openwork is pulled thread work and involves no cutting of threads. (Personally though, I don't think there is any need to be scared of cutting fabric threads!)
